FIFA 14

FIFA 14 will include legendary players, a new online mode and new licensed teams, EA Sports announced.

For the first time ever, gamers will be able to mix football legends with today’s superstars. Legendary players will be randomly inserted in gold packs in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team mode exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Each legend will have their own unique skills and personality.

The full lineup of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team legends that will be available as playable characters includes:

  • Dennis Bergkamp
  • Fernando Hierro
  • Robert Pirès
  • Oliver Bierhoff
  • Filippo Inzaghi
  • Frank Rijkaard
  • Sol Campbell
  • Patrick Kluivert
  • David Seaman
  • Fabio Cannavaro
  • Henrik Larsson
  • Teddy Sheringham
  • Rui Costa
  • Jens Lehmann
  • Andriy Shevchenko
  • Hernán Crespo
  • Gary Lineker
  • Davor Šuker
  • Frank de Boer
  • Freddie Ljungberg
  • Marco van Basten
  • Marcel Desailly
  • Paolo Maldini
  • Edwin van der Sar
  • Paulo Futre
  • Lothar Matthäus
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy
  • Stefan Effenberg
  • Gary Neville
  • Patrick Vieira
  • Robbie Fowler
  • Michael Owen
  • Christian Vieri
  • Ruud Gullit
  • Pauleta
  • George Weah
  • Gheorghe Hagi
  • Pelé
  • Gianfranco Zola.

EA Sports also announced a new online game mode will be available in FIFA 14. In Co-op Seasons, gamers will be able to play cooperatively with a friend online against teams of two other players in two-on-two online matches. Teams of two will try to work their way up to Division One and win a league title.

Match Day has been expanded for both Co-op Seasons and the regular Seasons mode. It will connect the game to real-world football by updating stats, injuries and suspensions that occur in real-life events into the virtual world of FIFA 14.

In addition, a new feature called Match Flow will make matches feel more realistic than ever. Players on the field will interact with ball boys on the sidelines and fans will react with on-field events. FIFA 14 also has 121 different camera angles, positioned everywhere from outside the stadium to the pitch. The extensive camera angles will allow for stunning replays and emotional storylines.

The game will include new licensed teams from the Chilean Primera Division, Argentinean Primera Division, the Brazilian National Team and 19 clubs from Brazil. More new licenses are expected to be revealed soon. Overall, the game will feature 33 officially licensed leagues and more than 16,000 clubs.

EA Sports previously announced FIFA 14 will allow players to bring their in-game rosters, items and currency from current generation consoles to next-generation systems. Other items players will be able to transfer to new consoles include EA Sports Football Club level, XP, historical kits, celebrations and progress in Seasons and Career mode.

FIFA 14 is set to release Sept. 24 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita, PlayStation 2 and PSP. Versions of the game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are expected to be available at launch of the new consoles. As if that was not enough platforms, FIFA 14 will also be available on iOS and Android devices this fall.

EA Sports also announced a demo for FIFA 14 will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Sept. 10.
