Farming Simulator

[adsense250itp]Farming Simulator is set to release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Sept. 4, developer Giants Software and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced.

The game puts players in the role of a farmer growing a farm in a huge open world. Gamers will have to manage every aspect of the farm, including crops, sales and animal husbandry.

A modern farmer is nothing without his tools and Farming Simulator gives virtual farmers access to the latest machinery. Throughout their career on the farm, players will handle more than a hundred vehicles and machines. Machines from brands including Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, Grimme and Lamborghini are virtually recreated to represent their real-life counterparts.

In Farming Simulator’s career mode, players will also experience a full economic system and purchasable fields.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 version of Farming Simulator is based on Farming Simulator 2013 for PC. However, the console version does include a new American farming environment and vehicles new to the franchise.

Overall, the console version of Farming Simulator features more than 100 vehicles and tools based on more than 20 different real-life brands. It also includes three animal types, which are cows, sheep and chickens.

Farming Simulator 2013 released for PC last October. The console version of the game was originally expected to hit stores in the first quarter of 2013 but was delayed.

The Farming Simulator series has sold millions of units worldwide since the inception of the franchise. This marks the first time a game in the franchise will be coming to consoles.

In addition to the Farming Simulator series, developer Giants Software is responsible for the machinery-filled simulation games Demolition Company and Ski Region Simulator. The Swiss-based studio also creates their own game engine for use in their games.

The console version of Farming Simulator will be priced at $39.99 when it releases Sept. 4. The game will be available to play during Gamescom at Cologne.
