Fallout 4 Officially Announced

Fallout 4 has been officially announced by Bethesda with the reveal of a new trailer for the game this morning.
Bethesda teased the announcement yesterday with a tweet and a countdown saying “Please Stand By” in the style of previous Fallout games. Of course, the internet was set ablaze with hype knowing that an official Fallout 4 announcement couldn’t be far off.
Boston appears to be the location of the game, based on landmarks appearing in the trailer. Flashes of a house right before the nuclear war coincide with its ravaged remains as a dog searches the rubble. The Massachusetts State House, Paul Revere statue, and Bunker Hill Monument are just a sample of what players can see in the trailer. The Brotherhood of Steel power armor, Nuka Cola, the Vault Boy bobblehead, and a few iconic monsters also make an appearance. At the end of the trailer we are given a glimpse of the protagonist who appears to be from Vault 111, one of the few places safe from the nuclear fallout.
The last time players have taken a romp through post-nuclear apocalypse America was in 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas. Upwards of five years is a long time to wait for the exceptional series that really opened up when Bethesda took the reigns with Fallout 3 in 2008.
Fallout 4 is confirmed for a release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC though no release date is expected until Bethesda’s E3 2015 press conference on June 14.
Fallout 4 Official Trailer
While most expected Bethesda to formally introduce Fallout 4 to the world at its E3 conference, this reveal isn’t going to upset anyone. Fallout 4 has been one of the most sought after games in years and Bethesda has done a good job of keeping it under wraps. Now the question is, what kind of other big reveals will the developer have for E3?
