Players Still Experiencing Fallout 4: Far Harbor Woes on PS4

/ Jun 23rd, 2016 No Comments

PlayStation 4 players are still experiencing framerate issues and lag when they traverse the fog in Fallout 4‘s latest Far Harbor DLC.

The problem persists even for those players who have downloaded update 1.5.3. Bethesda expressed it is aware of the issue and that the dev team is currently hard at work figuring out the problem. The update was released on June 13 and meant to fix numerous bugs and performance issues.

Fallout 4 players on PC and Xbox One are currently enjoying mod support for the game. Mods are expected to be make the jump to PlayStation later this month but with the recent issues, this could push back that schedule.

Bethesda games are notorious for the plethora of bugs players encounter while exploring the massive worlds. Regardless, each game continues to amass a cult following in spite of them. Loyal PlayStation gamers might recall the issues that plagued Skyrim on PS3 during that game’s peak. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come, especially with the remastered version of Skyrim forthcoming.

Quick Take

The worlds created by Bethesda are so incredibly massive with many moving parts. While the argument that a triple-A studio should have its sh*t together is certainly a valid one, when you have such lofty aspirations, you have to expect some bumps in the road. Far Harbor, while sullied by technical issues on PS4, is still quite an amazing DLC. That seems to be the Bethesda tagline: “Buggy but amazing games!”
