[adsense250itp] F1 2013 and F1 2013 Classic Edition are set to release this fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, Codemasters announced. A new teaser trailer was released for the game, providing a glimpse of some of the cars that will be featured in the upcoming title.
F1 2013 will feature all the cars, circuits and drivers from the 2013 Formula 1 season, giving gamers the option to race as Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes or Sergio Perez in his McLaren-Mercedes. Along with new drivers and new cars, F1 2013 will feature updated rules, tire changes and remodeled handling. Other enhancements new to the F1 franchise will include split-screen and online multiplayer.
Also revealed is a new gameplay mode. F1 Classic mode will pit gamers against legendary drivers on iconic circuits in classic cars showcasing the evolution of Formula 1 racing through the years. Formula 1 Lotus, Williams and Ferrari cars from the 1980s can be used to race against the likes of Mario Andretti, Nigel Mansel, Emerson Fitipaldi and Gerhard Berger on classic circuits like Brand Hatch and Jerez.
The Classic Edition of F1 2013 will add two content packs featuring cars and drivers from the 1990s and additional circuits for F1’s multiple game modes. David Coulthard, Jacques Villeneuve, Eddie Irvine and Alain Prost will all make an appearance in the Classic Edition along with cars from Williams and Ferrari. All additional content featured in the Classic edition of F1 will be available as DLC shortly after release.
RaceNet, Codemasters’ free online community hub will be fully integrated with F1 2013. RaceNet will provide gamers with updated in-game challenges, community-wide challenges, visual stats and game progress updates. Access for players is free via desktop, mobile and dedicated apps.
While little else has been revealed about F1 2013, the game’s website shows the additional content in F1 2013 Classic Edition will feature seven classic drivers and five classic cars from the 1990s, ten classic drivers and five classic cars from the 1980s and classic circuits Imola and Estoril. The teaser trailer for the game shows no actual gameplay though the developer has stated that the newest titles in the F1 franchise will include improved handling and A.I.
F1 2013 was developed as part of a multi-year exclusive deal with Formula One World Championship Limited. The teaser trailer for F1 2013 can be viewed below.
