Take-Two Interactive announced upcoming multiplayer shooter Evolve‘s release date has been delayed to Feb 10, 2015.
[adsense250itp]Published by 2K Games, the game was originally planned for an Oct. 21 release. The delay gives the development team a few additional months to polish Evolve and fully realize the vision of the game. Take-Two commented that February also provides a less crowded release window.
Evolve was set to release the same month as Battlefield Hardline and Dragon Age Inquisition. But with those games now delayed, October won’t be as loaded with major releases. Titles such as Assassin’s Creed Unity, Alien: Isolation and Sunset Overdrive are currently scheduled for October.
Turtle Rock Studios, the studio behind the original Left 4 Dead, is developing Evolve. The game has four human characters cooperatively fighting against a giant monster controlled by a fifth player. At E3 the game impressed us and was nominated for Best in Show.
Evolve will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Quick Take
2014 has rapidly turned into the year of game delays. Several major titles have been bumped from the release schedule into 2015. October was certainly looking quite busy and with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare arriving the first week of November, Evolve was facing stiff competition. Now the game will do battle with The Order: 1886 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
