EA Planning EA Sports UFC 3 for 2018

In a financial report regarding fourth quarter 2017 results, EA announced it is planning the release of EA Sports UFC 3 for early 2018.
A slide focused on EA’s 2018 fiscal year revealed the development of the UFC title. The slide has the game scheduled for a quarter four 2018 launch, which puts the release in early 2018.
The presentation only says that EA Sports UFC 3 will release on “console.” Presumably that means PlayStation 4 and Xbox’s family of consoles (Project Scorpio is expected to launch before the release of UFC 3), but no further details were provided. EA is not planning to release the game for PC, but it is not known if “console” includes the Nintendo Switch.
EA Sports UFC 2 released in March 2016, so it’s possible that the follow up could release in the same month two years later. Currently, EA Sports UFC 3 is the only game EA has on the slate for quarter four of 2018, but those plans could change.

EA Sports is expected to have a busy late summer and fall this year. The company has four sports titles during the second quarter of the 2018 fiscal year, including the return of NBA Live. NBA Live 18 is expected to launch in September alongside NHL 18 and FIFA 18. Meanwhile, Madden 18 is likely to be getting its typical August release window.
In a separate investor call, EA also stated that the previously announced new IP from Bioware will release during the 2019 fiscal year, which runs from April 2018 through March 2019.
