Square-Enix announced the upcoming action-RPG Drakengard 3 will release exclusively for PlayStation 3 on May 20.
In addition to dating Drakengard 3, Square-Enix revealed details on pre-orders for the Standard Edition and the Collector’s Edition of the game. Drakengard 3 will roll out a Pre-Order Incentive Program that begins immediately. The Incentive Program features timed pre-order bonuses only available during specific timeframes. There will be three different tiers rolled out in timed windows.
Tier One, which runs from Feb. 5 through Mar. 3, pre-order customers will receive a special Japanese voiceover DLC. Also, they will receive the next two to-be-announced bonus tiers. Tier Two, which runs between Mar. 4 to Apr. 8, players who pre-order the game will unlock an unannounced bonus and the Tier Three bonus. Tier Three, which is from Apr. 9 until the game’s launch on May 20, will grant those who pre-order the game only the final unannounced bonus. To receive all bonuses, interested fans should pre-order between Feb. 5 and Mar. 3.
Drakengard 3 will also get the Collector’s Edition treatment Square is known for. The Collector’s Edition is limited to 5,000 copies. It includes the three pre-order incentive tiers guaranteed. The Collector’s Edition also includes the complete novella, a sampler for the official soundtrack, a prequel stage DLC, Caim Costume DLC, Giant Baby Hat DLC and a Drakengard Collectible Poster. Additionally, the Collector’s Edition will have the traditional elaborate packaging.
The Standard Edition retails for $49.99 as a physical copy and digital download on the PlayStation Network and Square-Enix Online Store. The Collector’s Edition is available exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store for $79.99. Drakengard 3 is available for pre-order today.
