Doom Release Date Announced

Bethesda announced Doom will release on May 13 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Doom is being developed by id Software, the studio behind the original Doom, which was released in 1993, and the Wolfenstein series. 2016’s Doom will be the fourth main entry for the series. Doom 3, the last numbered entry, was released in 2004.
As with previous entries, Doom is a first-person shooter where players take on legions of demons that have been unleashed from Hell. Using classic weapons like the BFG, super shotgun, and chainsaw, these demons will be massacred in some of the goriest ways possible. In addition to single and multiplayer modes, Doom will feature the SnapMap game editor so players can create content and share it with each other.
At E3 2015, Bethesda unveiled a lengthy gameplay demo of Doom at its press conference. Late last year a closed multiplayer alpha was released to give players a taste of the game. Bethesda also announced a collector’s edition of Doom. The $120 edition includes a 12″ tall statue of the Revenant demon featuring an LED-lit base and a spinning turbine mimicking one found on the UAC facility on Mars where the game takes place. The collector’s edition will also include the game packaged in an exclusive metal case. Pre-ordering the game nets players cosmetic items for multiplayer and six consumables meant to give an edge in online play.
