Capcom has finally put an official release date on the highly-anticipated Vergil’s Downfall downloadable content pack for the Devil May Cry reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry.

The story-extending DLC was originally announced late last year and has now been confirmed to have an upcoming release date of March 6.

Vergil’s Downfall will take players into a brand new story that will put them in the shoes of Dante’s twin brother Vergil. The content will introduce players to hours of all new gameplay, including new difficulty levels, new areas, weapons, combos and enemies.

The DLC for DmC: Devil May Cry will be available March 6 for 720 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $8.99 on the PlayStation Network and PC. Players who pre-ordered the game from GameStop will get the DLC at no charge.

DmC: Devil May Cry’s Bloody Palace Mode is also available now and comes completely free with the game’s latest downloadable update. This new mode features over 100 new challenge levels, including five new challenging bosses for players to put their skills to the test against. Bloody Palace Mode is available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC now.

While nothing has officially been confirmed as of yet, many players are concerned about the future of bonus content for DmC: Devil May Cry. As the unfortunate victim of fan hatred, DmC: Devil May Cry has sold well less than expected and will undoubtedly have their post-launch content releases suffering as a result.

Earlier this month, Capcom reduced the sales target for the game by 800,000. DmC: Devil May Cry has shipped one million copies and expects to ship 1.2 million units.
