Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Pre-Order Loot Revealed

As PC gamers prepare for the expansion set for Diablo III, Reaper of Souls, to release March 25, Blizzard Entertainment announced the goodies that gamers will get for pre-ordering the expansion. Two bonus items will be given to all that pre-purchase the expansion digitally through and anyone that redeems a Reaper of Souls retail game key before March 31.

Pre-Order Loot

The first item that players will get is called “Wings of Valor,” which allows players to summon the radiant wings of the Archangel of Valor for characters in Diablo III. Gamers may remember the Archangel of Valor, also known in the game as Imperius, is reknowned as the greatest warrior in all creation. He famously clashed with Tyrael in Act I of Diablo III and later made an in-game appearance in Act IV.

The second pre-order loot item players will receive is “Valla the Demon Hunter,” which will be a playable character in the upcoming hero brawler Heroes of the Storm. This marks the first time that Blizzard has announced any “extra” goodies that can be unlocked now for a game that has yet to reach beta.

Players who have previously pre-purchased Reaper of Souls are already set to receive both items regardless if they purchased the standard edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. Items will be given to a account, with The Wings of Valor automatically sent to existing accounts via an in-game notification starting on March 20.

Those looking to play as Valla the Demon Hunter in Heroes of the Storm will have to wait until the game has been officially released. Blizzard noted on the official website that Heroes of the Storm is “still deep in development and does not have an announced release date.” Players are encouraged to stay tuned to the official game site for updates.

Goodies Still Available After Launch

Even if gamers do not pre-purchase the game, they are still eligible to receive the loot. Simply purchase a boxed retail copy of Reaper of Souls and redeem the game key through a account on or before 11:59 p.m. PT on March 31 and the loot incentive will be applied.

Our Take

The Wings of Valor looks pretty badass and promises to add a lot of flavor to Diablo III characters within the game. While many gamers are thirsting for more knowledge of Heroes of the Storm, there hasn’t been too much information outside of some very good Q&A and shoutcasts on Twitch from the Blizzard team. This unlockable character is a promising sign that the game is coming sooner rather than later, and speculation is sure to run rampant as to when the game will hit beta and eventually release. In the meantime, it’s a nice perk to know that players can use one locked character right off the bat for bragging rights whenever it does release.
