Devil May Cry 5 Announced

Devil May Cry 5

Capcom officially announced Devil May Cry 5 for a spring 2019 release window at the Microsoft E3 2018 press conference.

The game serves as a true sequel to Devil May Cry 4 rather than Ninja Theory’s 2013 reboot, DmC.

Devil May Cry 5’s reveal trailer focused on Nero, the main protagonist from Devil May Cry 4. Instead of a possessed blue arm, Nero now has a detachable metal arm that features some special demon-defeating powers. Based on the trailer, it looks as if these new arms are designed and sold by a female sidekick who accompanies Nero through most of the trailer.

Hideaki Itsuno is returning as game director for Devil May Cry 5. The trailer features Nero using his arm and various weapons against a gruesome demon army, tearing through city streets in the action players from the series have come to expect. The trailer doesn’t take itself too seriously, which has always been an important aspect of Devil May Cry. Despite the bloody combat and massive bosses, players should still expect deep combat that focuses on combos with a somewhat goofy atmosphere.

Dante will also return in some form in the game. Right before the trailer concludes, Dante can be seen riding in on a motorcycle with his trademark white hair and a bit of facial hair.
