Guardians, get your light level in check because the Destiny Wrath of the Machine raid is now live.
Bungie announced the raid would be going live Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. PT for players who own Rise of Iron. A trailer for the raid was also released to give players a short glimpse at the challenges they are going to face.
Rise of Iron, Destiny’s fourth expansion, focuses on the story of the Iron Lords, a group of heroes that fought against the forces of The Darkness before there were Guardians. Twisted versions of the Fallen enemies called Devil Splicer are the primary opponents in the expansion and the raid.
Raids are considered to be the peak of the Destiny experience. Their extreme challenge allows six players to group together and tackle the game’s most inventive puzzles and toughest enemies. Plus, they are the best way to get exclusive, high-level gear.
Whenever a raid launches, thousands of fireteams compete to be the first to figure out its mysteries, and Bungie is always watching and waiting to see which guardians will be the first to make it to the end.
Rise of Iron may not be as meaty of an expansion as The Taken King, but a full raid is enough to satisfy Destiny players. Even though players will see reused enemies and assets, it’s enough content to hopefully stave off the release of whatever Destiny 2 will be when it inevitably comes out. For a game that came out two years ago, it’s gone through a lot of necessary and important changes, but definitely needs the content and overhaul of a full-fledged main entry to maintain longevity.
