Destiny 2 Announcement and Purchase Details

Destiny 2 is officially launching Sept. 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, developer Bungie announced. Players can pre-order multiple versions of the game now.

According to Bungie, Destiny 2 will take players to unexplored worlds in the solar system. Players must “reunite humanity’s scattered heroes” and “fight back to reclaim our home.” Ghaul, the commander of the Red Legion, has successfully invaded humanity’s last safe city and taken power from the Guardians. It is up to players to take defeat Ghaul and the Red Legion.
Alongside the announcement, Bungie released a debut trailer for the game. The two-minute “Rally the Troops” trailer can be viewed below.
The official Bungie website lists several versions of the game. In addition to the base game, players can pre-order a Collector’s Edition, which includes the expansion pass for Destiny 2, a physical bag, a USB charger, paracord, solar blanket, a Steelbook case and in-game items. The Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition is currently listed for $249.99 at Gamestop.
For $99.99, players can purchase the Destiny 2 Limited Edition, which includes the game, expansion pass, Steelbook case, digital items and a Cabal-themed collector’s box. The Digital Deluxe Edition is listed at the same price and comes with the game, expansion pass and premium digital content.
The expansion pass for Destiny 2 is currently selling for $34.99, but players can save a few bucks by purchasing the game and expansion pack kit. Gamestop is listing the combo pack at $89.99, which is five dollars less than the buying the standard edition of the game and expansion pass separately.
Players who pre-order any version of the game will get early access to the Destiny 2 beta.
