Sacred 3 will be the next installment of the celebrated action RPG series Sacred.
Deep Silver has announced Sacred 3 will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC in 2013. The game is currently being developed by keen games and will be the third full-fledged game in the franchise.
Sacred 3 heralds itself as an “addictive action experience” with mature gameplay. The world of Sacred 3 is said to be colorful with “diverse regions and climates.” The latest installment of the series will be packed with rich mythology and an interesting, engaging plot to keep players enthralled.
There are numerous character classes for players to choose from. The Safiri Warrior and Ancarian Lancer are two of the many classes. Different classes use different skill sets and players should strategically select their Combat Arts, perks, and equipment carefully in order to best battle the violent Ashen Empire.
Keen games plans to really emphasize Sacred 3′s co-op mode. Up to four players can unite in this mode. Co-op play allows players to annihilate Imperial aggressors and allows for friendly competition. Co-op companions can test their skills against one another and determine who is the strongest hero within their party.
There will be a prelude for the Sacred 3 story also available to players in 2013. The prelude can be experienced in Sacred Citadel, the side-scrolling action brawler developed by Southend Interactive. Sacred Citadel will be available through the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Steam.
The series Sacred takes place on the continent of Ancaria, a diverse world full of fantastic cultures and climates. Dark elves, wood elves, and vampires are among some of unique races. There are multiple towns and villages that players can explore in Ancaria. Deserts, lava plains, mountains, forests, and icy climates all contribute to Ancaria’s special landscapes.
The original Sacred released on PCs in 2004 with two expansions coming out the next year. Sacred 2: Fallen Angel debuted in 2008 on PC with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions released in 2009.
