DC Universe Online Celebrates Second Anniversary with Update 22 and More

DC Universe Online’s Second Anniversary

The largely popular DC Universe Online (DCUO) massively mutliplayer online game (MMO) has recently hit their second anniversary milestone and is celebrating with a bang. Previously, existing players received a unique cape in celebration of DCUO’s first anniversary. This year, the superhero MMO is taking things up a notch. Existing players who log in will now find two unique second anniversary trinkets as well as a small gift in their in-game mailboxes.

DCUO has also decided to kick off their third year with Update 22, which features a few fixes and changes that are sure to please players worldwide.

Economy Stimulus Package:

Probably the most generous change coming with Update 22 is DCUO’s Economy Stimulus Package. This is basically a fancy way to say that the developers behind DCUO are raising the amount of in-game cash that appears from regular, vault and tier 1-4 drops. More money is never a bad thing to help us forget how much we’re paying for this game in the first place.

Weapon Animation Balancing:

Regular DCUO players have probably noticed there are some minor issues with combat from time to time. These are expected in any MMO but Update 22 will help lessen the pain with increased weapon balancing animation. This subtle change will help players balance damage-per-second while clipping.

Home Turf Items:

Home Turf DLC is just around the corner and the developers want to help players get ready before it hits. From here on out, items for player bases will begin dropping with other various loot items. Obviously, these will not be usable until Home Turf arrives and is purchased by the player but it is a nice incentive to buy the latest DLC when it releases within the coming weeks.

Home Turf was originally announced in October. The latest DCUO DLC will be giving players the ability to own a base where they can hang out with friends. These largely customizable HQ’s will also play home to special invasion missions and will give players the ability to personalize their character that much more. Home Turf will cost players $9.99.
