Days Gone Release Date Announced
Ben Sheene / Jun 7th, 2018 No Comments

PlayStation 4 exclusive Days Gone is releasing on Feb. 22, 2019, developer Bend Studio announced today on the PlayStation Blog.
In anticipation of Sony’s E3 2018 press conference, the company is making new game announcements and revealing release dates for upcoming PlayStation games. The flow of news began on June 7 and will end on June 10, leading up to Sony’s conference on June 11 at 6:00pm PST.
Days Gone is an open world game where players control Deacon St. John in a post-apocalyptic Oregon. Since the game’s reveal at Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, Bend has focused on the game’s brutal nature. The world has been taken over by zombie-like creatures called Freakers that run fast and can swarm Deacon in great numbers. Another focus of the game is Deacon’s motocycle, which allows him to traverse the dangerous world around him somewhat more safely.
Bend released a new trailer for Days Gone to announce the release date and show off some new threats players can expect to come across when the game launches. Mountain lions can prowl the woods and attack players while infected ravens will swarm like they are ripped from a Hitchcock thriller. A human faction called Rest in Peace, or R.I.P., worships Freakers, dress like them, and will attack anyone who isn’t their own.
Quick Take
Sony plans to highlight a number of games at its E3 press conference including The Last of Us Part 2, Death Stranding, Spider-Man, and Ghost of Tsushima. Though we should expect a number of surprises, Sony obviously has a lot in store for the PlayStation brand over the next few years. This week of pre-E3 announcements is Sony’s way of making sure there is time for all the news, big and small.
