After a flurry of coverage with Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Sony all holding major press conferences packed with game changing announcements, the official start to E3 is here. The talk of the show is the absolute crushing that Sony gave to Microsoft thanks to a killer PlayStation 4 presentation as compared to the Xbox One. The nearly undisputed champion of the console unveiling presentations, the PlayStation 4 has a lot of buzz thanks to the lower price point, better handling of used games, amazing exclusives and more. At the show we have Executive Editor Sean Gibson, along with Associate Editors Ryan Bloom, Kalvin Martinez and Ben Sheene, plus Multimedia Specialist and Reviewer, Chance Asue.

Check out the PlayStation 4
There was a ton of buzz about the PS4 and how well it compared to the Xbox One. In terms of hardware, there haven’t been any side-by-side comparisons to see which “runs best” but we can compare and contrast the aesthetic quality of the design for each. The PS4 seems to be getting a little bit more love than the Xbox One, however, they are undeniably similar. The two games that absolutely stole the show were Bungie’s Destiny and Watch_Dogs that both looked amazing when played live. Here’s a shot of the PS4:
Here is the Xbox One
We’ve already seen the Xbox One prior to yesterday’s big announcements and for the most part it hasn’t been cheered by the industry. However, many Xbox loyalists are saying it’s great, so really, it’s just a matter of small preferences since both are indeed close with their design.
EA & Ubisoft
Both EA and Ubisoft had good press conferences to show off some of their games. For EA, Battlefield 4 was what everyone wanted to see and kudos to them for showing off a live 64-player epic battle live during the show. They also showed off most of the EA Sports properties, including Madden 25, FIFA 14 and the upcoming UFC game set for release in 2013. Ubisoft also had plenty to show off including a new Splinter Cell game, South Park, and a new game called The Crew that had the crowd buzzing.
What’s Going on For Day One for our Team?
Nintendo – Executive Editor Sean Gibson will be at the Nintendo Wii U software showcase to see all the new things Nintendo is going to be offering.
Prime World – Kalvin will be taking those appointment during our lunch hour.
Activision – Literally the showstealer from the Sony press conference with Destiny. Oh yeah there’s that new CoD too. Killer!
Indiecade – Probably the most underrated booth area at E3 and we’re VERY excited to be visiting.
Xbox – Good luck and cheers for Ryan Bloom. He gets to ask some VERY hard questions to Microsoft brass.
Bethesda – Very excited to see Elder Scrolls Online a bit more from one of the most popular publishers in the industry.
Extra Life – Another Kalvin appointment.
Ubisoft – What a way to wrap up the day. Just a ridiculously jam packed action-fest of a Day One at E3 2013.
