Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City DLC will release on March 28, 2017 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

This is the final content expansion for Dark Souls 3 which released in March of 2016. The Ringed City will be available for $14.99 as an individual download or as a part of a season pass for $24.99 which also includes last years’ Ashes of Ariandel DLC.

The Ringed City has players following Slave Knight Gael to the end of the world as he searches for the Dark Soul of Humanity. This expansion takes place at the close of the Age of Fire, as the world begins its end. As players reach The Ringed City there will be new beasts to encounter along with new characters, new armor, new weapons, and new magic spells to unlock.

Ashes of Ariandel expanded upon the base of Dark Souls 3 by taking players to the Painted World, an area last seen in the original Dark Souls. Two new boss encounters were found in the DLC but it also introduced a new PvP arena where players tested their skills against each other. While the DLC was a bit on the short side, it gave players a wealth of new lore to dive into, enriching the game’s often obtuse story.

FromSoftware has yet to announce if it will continue the Dark Souls or Bloodborne series in the near future. As it stands, The Ringed City may be the final piece of new content players get from the beloved Japanese developer for some time. Stakes are high as it offers another chance to tie in previous games in the series and give a few more brutal challenges to tackle.
