Crackdown 3 Releases February 2019

/ Jun 10th, 2018 No Comments

Crackdown 3 release date

During the Microsoft E3 2018 Media Briefing, the world got a new look at Crackdown 3 and an updated release date.

Commander Isaiah Jaxon is ready to kick some ass and chew bubble gum to take down a criminal corporation in New Providence. As an agent in this futuristic sandbox where fantastical weapons, terrifying abilities, transforming vehicles, and high-power jumps give you limitless options to cause chaos.

Whether you’re playing through Crackdown 3’s story campaign or playing its Microsoft cloud-powered multiplayer mode, “Wrecking Zone,” there are plenty of explosions to go around.

It’ll be part of Xbox One’s Game Pass program upon launch as well.

Crackdown 3 launches exclusively on Xbox One and Windows 10 February 2019.

Our Take

When we last saw Crackdown 3 at Microsoft’s E3 Media Briefing last year, it had a completely different look. The trailer presented with a live-action and lively performance by Terry Crews showcased a more generic form of chaotic sandbox gameplay. Explosions and high-flying jumps didn’t quite match the intensity of Terry Crews’ performance. Seems Microsoft agreed.

Microsoft gave us our first look at the new look and direction of the game. The trailer captured in-game showed off Commander Isaiah Jaxon voiced by and modeled after Terry Crews. Jaxon’s bombastic attitude gives a much needed direction and sense of tone to Crackdown 3.

The intensity of the E3 2017 trailer is matched and upped by the introduction of Jaxon and Terry Crews’ impassioned voice over. Crackdown 3 went from bargain bin to something worth being excited about. The new look explains the delay into 2019.
