Cowboys vs Redskins Prediction – NFL Thanksgiving Edition

The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins prediction, thanks to Madden 13 and play-by-play with Associate Editor Carl Armstrong and Executive Editor Sean Gibson saw the Redskins defeat the Cowboys, 21-7. Robert Griffin III played big in limited possession minutes for the Washington Redskins, throwing for one touchdown and running for another. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was good in spots, but had two terrible interceptions that handcuffed early opportunities for the Cowboys. He did have one impressive touchdown pass to Dez Bryant, but most of the Cowboys damage was done by Felix Jones. Nevertheless, it was the Redskins defense that created turnovers that made the difference in this one. The Redskins special teams also had a hand in the game, in the form of a punt return for a touchdown that actually opened up the scoring in this game.

Final Thoughts

It was surprising to see the Redskins all but abandon the running game, but the switch really threw the Cowboys defense off guard. Griffin III was a beast, completing many short passes to Josh Morgan, while at the same time also completing a 50+ yard bomb to Briscoe. Overall, the Redskins showed more passion, discipline and consistency on offense, defense and special teams than the Cowboys. Our prediction is that Robert Griffin III will be the MVP of the game, throwing for at least a touchdown and running for one as well. He might have a pick because he’ll look to be more aggressive than he has been all season long and just might be suseptible to some early game butterflies playing on the big stage for the first time.

For the Cowboys, the momentum they had coming into this game will be lost and their playoff hopes will take a sudden turn for the worse after this one. While Romo, Bryant and Jones will have flashes of brilliance, the turnover bug will ultimately demise their opportunities in this one.
