Valve has announced the ability to pre-purchase Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Valve is the creator of hit titles on Steam such as Half-Life and Team Fortress. Valve is packing in a ton of innovation in CS:GO. Everything from weapons, gameplay, animations, models, maps, and audio is being modernized. Not only is Valve updating nearly everything, the company is also adding a lot of new features to the Counter Strike franchise.

If you are looking to get the jump on your competition, it will be beneficial to pre-order CS:GO. When you pre-order the game, you will gain access to the beta on August 14. The beta has been live since December. Valve has been gathering ideas from beta testers and have been hard at work turning thoughts into updates. Valve has changed everything from weapons and gameplay to animations and maps due to feedback from beta testers. The development team has really put in the effort to please fans by taking tips from them and using it to make updates to the game.

The affects of weapons have changed. Some weapons have been de-buffed to negate overpowered affects while some weapons had to be amped up.  The aiming system for bots was tweaked. Animations and models have been altered and few models were added. Guns have different animations and eight new player models were added. The UI has even gotten some attention, the scrolling speed has been adjusted, and results numbers have been fixed and counters added to show votes. Each map has had updates ranging from small details like reduced foliage to new spawn points. Even the audio was improved. New voiceovers on both terrorist and counter-terrorist teams were added.

CS:GO was also updated to include support for Mac.

Valve has taken the extra step to make sure they have pleased their fan base. As an added bonus, Valve is offerening a 10% discount with pre-orders made via Steam. Counter Strike: Global Offensive as it is slated from release on August 21.
