Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-end performance components of PC hardware, has announced their Neutron Series of SSDs. This series is going to be purely made up of solid-state drives, the industry’s first consumer SSDs to feature the LM87800 6 GB/s SSD controller from Link A Media Devices. Corsair, a leader in the development of semiconductor SoC solutions for the enterprise and mobile storage market, is purportedly bringing extreme performance Neutron GTX model. The new SSDs are said to bring a professional-grade performance and reliability to PC lovers, creators of content, and IT professionals.

The Neutron series from Corsair is going to be avalible in a few different choices; you are going to be able to get 120 GB, 240 GB, or 480 GB drive sizes. This all designed to be able to toggle NAND flash memory to deliver up to a super-high 90,000 random read and write IOPs. At those speeds you are going to be able to view folders at lighting quick speeds. You are also going to be able to be receiving approximate speeds of 555 MB/s read and 370 MB/s write. With these speeds you are going to be able to do video and image editing with blazing speeds. This new series is also going to pack a powerful on the fly error correction and advanced NAND management tech which improves the endurance of the onboard flash memory. Even though these SSDs are going to provide you enhanced reliability and durability, Corsair is still going to back consumers with a five year warranty.

Another interesting bit about the Corsair Neutron Series of SSDs is that even if the file is compressed or not you are still going to get the same great speed regardless. This is something that most systems in the market today are unable to do. This addresses one of the drawbacks from some SSDs currently in the marketplace.

Thi La, the Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair stated, “Together we’ve raised the standard for SSDs, and we have more exciting products on the way.” CEO of LAMD said, “LAMD has built our reputation engineering high-performance, high-reliability SSD controllers for mission-critical enterprise storage solutions.”

SSDs are going to be compatible with desktops and laptops with a sleek 2.5” form factor and 7mm slender height. Corsair is including a 3.5 adapter to allow easy mounting. The Neutron Series is going to be looking to find a place called home in your PC sometime this July.
