The Kickstarter campaign for Consortium, an upcoming science-fiction first-person shooter/role-playing game from Interdimensional Games ended Thursday. The game’s final pledge amount stands at a little over $70,000. far exceeding the minimum goal of $50,000.
Final development on the game will now proceed. Consortium is expected for a release sometime in July.
Despite a sluggish rate of donations given towards the project, the Kickstarter was roughly half an hour away from over before it reached its penultimate stretch goal. Having reached this milestone, the game’s developers will expand on the gameplay experience by working on the Extreme Zenil Simulation. Players will be able to destroy more of their environments, including decompressing doors that cause characters to die. Turbulence players experience will also become more realistic.
In accordance to the game reaching a previous stretch goal of $55,000, a poll will also be held sometime in the near future to determine the second language localization for Consortium. The game will be localized for Spanish speaking audiences.
Despite the Kickstarter ending, the game’s PayPal pledge page will remain open for one more month for people still interested in donating to the project. Many of the backer rewards presented in the now closed Kickstarter can still be earned by donating the appropriate amount of money. Interdimensional Games will also unveil one last stretch goal they hope to achieve before mid-May.
