Confetti (DVD)
Alternate Endings
Movie Trailers
Choose Your Winning Couple (semi-interactive game)
While there are a good amount of Extras offered on the DVD, most of them are only mildly entertaining in comparison to the movie. Still, the alternate endings and semi-interactive game would be the most interesting to check out. The deleted scenes were deleted for a reason- they seem drawn out so you’ll understand why they didn’t make the final cut.
SYNOPSIS
Confetti Magazine has launched its search for The Most Original Wedding of the Year. The lucky couple not only wins the title, but a million-dollar home where they can start their years of wedded bliss together. With such a fantastic prize at stake, competitive couples, bridezillas, and crazy wedding planners come out of the woodworks. Frontrunners for the competition include weddings with a tennis theme, a Hollywood musical theme, and a nudist theme. Which one do you think should win? Your guess is as good as mine. With the couples, their families, and their wedding planners all having a say on the wedding, nothing but madness and hilarity can become of such a competition!

ENTERTAINMENT
The DVD as a whole earns a solid score for entertainment. The insanity that happens behind planning a beautiful wedding always makes for good comedy. Based on the topic alone, the movie is funny; add in the dry British wit and the unique wedding themes and you know you’re in for a treat. Is it universally entertaining? Probably not. The audience that will enjoy the movie the most would be those that enjoy British accents and wedding movies.
LASTING FACTOR
Confetti isn’t meant to be the most hard-hitting or insightful mockumentary out there. It takes on a non-controversial social issue that most everyone can relate to. Because most people can connect with one or more situations that happen in the movie, there is potential for the movie to become a sleeper hit with you. Personally, Confetti will probably get another run or two for laughs.
AUDIO & VIDEO QUALITY
The movie is in widescreen format and offers English and Spanish subtitles. Dolby Digital 5.1 for English, French, and Spanish audio tracks. Everything is here to enjoy the movie audibly and visually and it’s rare for all audio tracks to be offered in Dolby Digital 5.1, so that’s definitely a bonus!
ORIGINALITY
Confetti is definitely an original in terms of the mockumentary genre – it’s imaginative to take on weddings when everyone else seems to be mocking politically-driven issues like healthcare or obesity. In general, the content of the DVD is better than okay, but not great – it lacks the “umph” it needs to make it absolutely hilarious or absolutely uplifting. It has all the potential to be a great film (e.g. talented British cast, humorous subject matter, improvisation, etc.), but it meets the bare minimum of what you would expect.
OVERALL IMPRESSION
The topic of the movie is not universally funny film. Only a select audience will really appreciate all the humor in the movie. However, what may catch everyone across the board is the improvisation of scenes, but there are only a handful of those as it is. If weddings and comedies are your “thing” when it comes to movies, then this is definitely worth renting and if it’s your cup of tea then go for the buy.
