GRID 2

GRID 2

Codemasters has announced the sequel to the smash hit GRID. GRID 2 will be hitting the store shelves some time in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

The first GRID title won the BAFTA-award after winning over critics and gamers alike. Fans have been asking for this title for quite some time since GRID was released all the way back in June 2008.

The announcement trailer for GRID 2 shows off many locations where the game will take place. The streets of Chicago and Paris, France are two of the famous locations featured in the game. Abu Dhabi, Miami, and the California coast are also featured in the game.

Many other locations and a variety of cars will be available spanning throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Vehicles range from classic cars to modern exotic imports.

The destruction is also back with GRID 2. The trailer shows a car losing control and rolling over.

GRID 2 went through two years of pre-production and is now in full-development on the latest evolution of the EGO Game Technology Platform. Using the award-winning EGO technology, GRID set the digital standard for damage, AI, and visuals.

It was the first game to introduce the Flashback time rewind feature. We have seen many games use this feature and GRID 2 will be no different but the team is looking to set a new standard in racing.

The game will be giving gamers Total Race Day Immersion, which will work hand-in-hand with EGO technology to deliver the most immersing play experience. The TrueFeel Handling System will use real physics to find a balance between accessibility and simulation and will even challenge players who mastered GRID.

Deep customization options will be integrated through RaceNet. RaceNet is the online community portal for all Codemasters racing games. Players can track races, rewards and rivals. This will be important for GRID 2 players as they advance through the game’s unique progression system and participate in online multiplayer races.

GRID 2 is lining up to be a new standard in racing. With automotive icons that span over 4 decades and racing locations in 3 continents, GRID 2 will deliver the most visceral and exhilarating races in gaming.
