Capcom Announces Remember Me

Originally named Adrift when it was first showcased at last year’s Gamescom, Remember Me is a third-person action platformer meshed in a very fresh sci-fi storyline.
Set in the futuristic landscape of Paris, France in the year 2084, Remember Me puts the player in control of the vivacious heroine Nilin, an elite memory bounty hunter in a world where a person’s memories have become something of the world’s currency. The game begins in a Bastille prison where Nilin finds herself waking up after her former employer, the antagonistic entity known as Memoryeyes, has erased her memory and obviously set her up in order to keep her under wraps. In order to find out exactly who she is and what her previous mission was that got her cast in such a disadvantageous situation, Nilin must take the fight to her previous employer and use the very skills they bestowed upon her to unravel the mysteries surrounding her current dilemma.
Nilin’s main ability that sets this game apart from most others is the mind altering device that seems to originate at the base of her neck/spine, carries down her right arm, and culminates to something of a conductor on the top of her right hand. With this device, players are able to access enemy’s minds in order to stun, manipulate, or even blow them up. Parts of the gameplay displayed during the press conference shows a scenario where the player is given access to a certain target’s mind and, through the controlled manipulation of particular memories, can heavily influence their future actions. In this particular scenario, the target ends up killing himself.
Paired with this mind controlling ability, Nilin is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and athleticism which allows her to traverse the futuristic landscape by way of scaling walls, shimmying across various ledges and pipelines, as well as being able to nimbly leap across various surfaces.
Remember is scheduled to release in May 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
