Sledgehammer Games announced the first details behind Call of Duty: WW2‘s first DLC pack titled The Resistance.
The DLC introduces three new multiplayer maps, a new mission for War mode, and a new chapter in the Nazi Zombies story. The Resistance will release first on PlayStation 4 on Jan. 30.
The Resistance features Anthropoid, Occupation, and Valkyrie as the new multiplayer maps. Anthropoid is based in Prague, Czechoslovakia and is inspired by Operation Anthropoid, an assassination attempt on a high-ranking German Officer. The map’s center lane is divided by a river while the flanking paths are perfect for long-range engagements.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 fans will recognize Occupation as a remake of the Resistance map. In the streets of German-occupied Paris, players will fight in the streets and set up defensive positions in the homes and storefronts. Valkyrie is inspired by The Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s Eastern-front headquarters during Operation Barbarossa, where the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union. Set in the Masurian Woods of East Prussia, the map focuses on a center lane peppered with mounted machine guns and overwatch positions.
Call of Duty: WW2’s new War mode launched with three maps and Operation Intercept will bring players to St. Lo, France. Allied forces need to free captured Resistance fighters, destroy communication equipment, and culminating in stopping a train.
Nazi Zombies continues with The Darkest Shore, a continuation of the core experience that launched with the game. Taking place days after the events in Mittelburg, the original troupe of heroes follow intel to an island north of Germany in search of Doktor Straub. The Darkest Shore features a new weapon and a new zombie type to further enhance the experience.
