Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Officially Unveiled

/ May 2nd, 2016 No Comments

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty is expanding beyond Earth for the first time ever. Activision and developer Infinity Ward officially unveiled Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a title that everyone saw coming after leaked information recently found its way onto the internet.

Infinite Warfare will release Nov. 4, according to a trailer for the game. The Infinite Warfare reveal trailer can be viewed below.

This iteration of Call of Duty will go beyond the boots-on-the-ground combat that the franchise is known for, putting players in the cockpit of high-powered warships and floating in endless space.

Despite the futuristic setting and new direction for the solo campaign, Infinite Warfare will also include a classic Zombies mode with multiplayer co-op available.

The end of the reveal trailer also includes a look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a remake of the famed PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title that took the Call of Duty craze to new levels. Modern Warfare Remastered, which will include an updated campaign and 10 fan-favorite multiplayer maps, will be available to those who pre-order the $79.99 Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare.

Activision announced that the Digital Deluxe Edition of Infinite Warfare, which is priced at $99.99, will include both games as well as a season pass. The $119.99 Legacy Pro Edition includes all that plus a collectible Steelbook, soundtrack and digital in-game items.

Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered are expected to be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Quick Take

The trailer for Infinite Warfare fails to show any significant plot details for the game’s campaign, and the big reveal about going into space falls flat. The bigger story may be the remake of Modern Warfare, which fans have been clamoring for. As of now, purchasing Infinite Warfare will be the only way to get Modern Warfare Remastered, but we think Activision has to have more up its sleeve that hasn’t unveiled.
