Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Builds Hype for Zombies During Comic Con

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies fans were treated to a host of new information during San Diego Comic Con with the release of new trailers and information.
Black Ops 4 is set to deliver the biggest offering of Zombies on Day 1 than any Call of Duty game yet. Earlier this week, the “Chaos” trailer debuted to provide more story information and gameplay hints to the Voyage of Despair and IX modes.
Voyage of Despair and IX follow Scarlett Rhodes on the quest to uncover the details behind her father’s mysterious disappearance. Helping Scarlett out are three men who claim to owe Scarlett’s father a great debt. In the fight against countless waves of undead, an ancient relic seems to be at the center of the chaos, possibly capable of terrifying power and the ability to take the group through time.
Zombies mode has taken players across cities ravaged by World Wars, eccentric theme parks, and space. Treyarch is taking its own Zombies mythos that has been doled out for 10 years and blowing it up to be bigger than ever before. Voyage of Despair takes place on the Titanic while IX sends players to what looks like Ancient Rome. Each map will offer different experiences but tell a story separate from the “Aether” storyline that has been in previous entries.
Blood of the Dead, the third Zombies map available at launch, is a re-imagined version of Mod of the Dead, a Zombies map that appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Blood of the Dead takes players back to Alcatraz, where Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai explore a secret laboratory underneath the prison.
Comic Con attendees were treated to a new trailer for Blood of the Dead. In it, two versions of Richtofen encounter each other and before one disappears through a portal, he suggests the future is in jeopardy. Players familiar with the Zombies storyline told throughout the Black Ops games are likely to speculate what all the hints in the new trailer mean for the entire story.
Treyarch also showed off the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Mystery Box Edition, the game’s deluxe edition. For $199.99 players get a copy of Black Ops 4, the Black Ops Pass, a collectible SteelBook, a 1,000 piece puzzle, three Zombies lithographs, 10 patches based on the game’s multiplayer Specialists, a Popsocket, Figpins, issue #1 of the Dark Horse Zombies comic, and additional bonus content that has yet to be revealed.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 12.
