Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Upgrade

Activision announced a new-gen upgrade plan for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Xbox 360 and PS3 owners who purchase a digital copy of Advanced Warfare are eligible for an upgrade to the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game for free.
[adsense250itp]The offer applies to all digital content for the game including the season pass, bonus multiplayer maps and any other additional content. Players must redeem the game digitally by March 31, 2015 or the offer will expire. However, any DLC purchased can still be upgraded for free with no deadline.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Digital Pro Edition or the base game are easily redeemed through Xbox Live or PSN. One stipulation is that the free upgrade offer only applies to versions of the game within the same console family. Xbox 360 owners won’t be able to get the PS4 version with the same applying to PS3 and Xbox One owners.
Additionally, player progress, stats and gear carry over between versions and are shared within the same console family. Taking part in this upgrade program won’t lock players out of their last-gen versions of the game either, as the licenses are still retained for both consoles.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will release on Nov. 4.
Activision, Microsoft and Sony seem extremely willing to ease players’ transition into the newest generation of consoles. Shortly before Destiny’s release, Activision announced an upgrade plan nearly identical to Advance Warfare’s. Hopefully publishers continue promotions like this as long as games continue to be cross-gen.
