Bungie is going full force on the Destiny 2 hype train by releasing a live action trailer for the game and announcing when players can expect to dive into the game’s first raid.
Destiny 2’s first raid will take place on Sept. 13 at 10AM PT, a week after the game launches. As with previous raids in Destiny, the community will race to see which fireteam of six will be the first to finish the game’s hardest challenge. Little is known about the raid outside of a PlayStation 4 trophy listing indicating it may be called “Leviathan” and feature a massive creature or structure capable of eating stellar bodies.
Nightfall strikes will be ready as soon as the game launches. Nightfalls are extremely difficult versions of Destiny strikes that feature modifiers to increase the challenge. The intense PvP Trials competition will open up on Sept. 15 at 10AM PT. The raid, Nightfall and Trials reward players with the highest level gear in Destiny to help them better survive.
Similar to the Destiny 1 launch, a live action trailer has been released to not only kick the marketing train into gear but get players excited for launch. The trailer features Nathan Fillion as Cayde-6 talking to three people dressed as a Warlock, Hunter and Titan. We get a look at Destiny 2 villain Ghaul and his army of Cabal. Flooded with special effects and the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” the trailer serves its purpose well.
Destiny 2 launches on Sept. 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on Oct. 24 for PC.
