Bound by Flame is an action-adventure game set to debut at the end of 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Debuting for the first time in front of international press at E3 2013, Bound by Flame has made headlines for sexy screenshots and what looks to be the makings of an imaginative universe. Created by Spiders Studio, Bound by Flame is purportedly a big budget title from the folks that brought the popular Mars War Logs title for PC. Spiders Games is an independent video game dev studio based out of Paris, France and was founded back in 2008. Some of their team worked on Siverfall and other popular titles that have appeared on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

In Bound by Flame, gamers will be put into a wildly imaginative world as a mercenary possessed by a flame demon in a Dark Fantasy universe. Because of the dark forces, players will choose between various dark forces or reject the evil influences and develop heroic talents in their place. It is said that in the game, players will be very tempted by the dark path because of escalating opposing forces and enemies. As players move more toward the demonic side, their outward appearance will reflect the choices they make.

The game is set to offer a robust main quest line that centers itself around an epic adventure. Some chapters in the game will be affected by the choices players make during the course of previous chapters, adding important depth to the game for players that want to replay for a different experience. Combat is real-time and said to be “impressive and dynamic” from the development group. A player’s character will only start with the bare basics of combat, fire magic and assassination. Players then specialize and unlock powers through those three skills trees.

Bound by Flame will allow players to customize their character and choose their gender and facial characteristics. There is also a crafting system that allows for armor and weapon creation. In addition, there will be companions that will tag along for quests and depending on a player’s actions will develop friendships, romance or a rivalry with various companions.

The bestiary in Bound by Flame is purported diverse and highly unique. Baddies ranging from ice creatures, undead, liches and shadow dragons will pose threats to gamers as they walk through the game.

Bound by Flame is set for release near the end of 2013 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
