Blizzard and Sony announced a partnership that will bring Diablo 3 to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, the companies announced at the PlayStation 2013 meeting in New York Wednesday.
The dungeon crawler from Blizzard, also the makers of World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2, will be going from the PC to both Sony platforms.
Chris Metzen, the senior vice president of story and franchise development for Blizzard, appeared on stage at the PlayStation event to announce the deal between the two companies. He said the game is already running on the PS3 and it looks and feels “amazing.”
Diablo 3 is an action role-playing game released last May. The game was exclusive to Windows PC and Apple’s OS X platform. Sean Gibson reviewed Diablo 3 for Gaming Illustrated and gave the game a score of 90 percent. Read the review here.
No pricing details for the PS3 or PS4 versions of Diablo 3 were announced. A release date has also yet to be revealed. It is unknown if Blizzard will be bringing additional games to Sony consoles.
Earlier this week, Blizzard announced the return of BlizzCon. The almost-annual gathering of Blizzard fans will take place on November 8 and 9 in Anaheim, Calif.
