Black Ops II Multiplayer Trailer Debuts
The video showcases the ever present kill streak rewards and equipment, including an AR drone with guns, some form of suicide bird planes, an A.G.R Tank that drops from a helicopter, and a stun-wave emitting stand. The reveal trailer also shows some of the new weapons. They mainly seem the same as previous weapons but there are new attachments like a scope that can spot enemies through walls, a stun grenade called a Shock Charge, and, of course, the return of the dual red dot/ACOG sight from Modern Warfare 3.
What Call of Duty game would be complete without a riot shield? Now you have the ability to stick your favorite ineffective weapon into the ground, use it for cover and whip out a more effective weapon, making the riot shield useful for something other than trolling. As MW3 brought back the throwing knife, Black Ops 2 is bringing back the tomahawk. To be honest, it still looks a lot more menacing than the throwing knife. The dolphin dive is also making its return helping the fight against drop-shotting and, of course, Treyarch’s dogs are coming back as a kill streak but will not be the highest possible kill streak.
For those competitive gamers out there, it looks as though Black Ops 2 will have a lot more functionality for the e-sports market. Multiplayer includes shoutcasting over gameplay and new spectating options. There is an all new heads-up display, making it easier for matches to be played on the main stage. Also being added is the new game type, Multi-Team Team Deathmatch. Assuming that it puts four teams of four against each other, it seems very similar to Battlefield.
The maps that are shown look like a mix between Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3, which is becoming something you learn to expect from a Call of Duty game. It’s good to see that you can still kill someone by landing one or two bullets in their leg from a revolver.
