Report: Black Ops 4 Won’t Have Single-Player Campaign

If a Black Ops game doesn’t have a single-player campaign, is it really a Black Ops game? According to reports, we’ll find out what exactly makes Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 a Black Ops game if there is no solo campaign mode.
Citing sources familiar with the game, Kotaku reported that Black Ops 4 will “essentially be multi-player only” and will lack a single-player mode.
One of the sources also told Kotaku that Black Ops 4 will have a last man standing battle royale mode, which has become popular due to games such as Fortnite: Battle Royale and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds. Developer Treyarch also has invested heavily in the zombies modes in Black Ops, so there may be some co-op or solo aspects available in this mode.
Activision has declined to comment on these reports, although they seem to be coming from legitimate sources if Kotaku and other outlets are willing to publish them.
The publisher is expected to officially reveal Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on May 17. The game is set to launch Oct. 12 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
