Black Ops 2 zombies fans should be happy to know that the Nuketown Zombies bonus map is now available on the Xbox 360 for players who have purchased the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC season pass! As previously announced by Activision, the map would be coming to season pass holders sometime in December and that time is now.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was released on Nov. 13, and since then gamers across the world have been racking up kills across all modes of play. With a campaign that introduced branching story lines along with the trademark action-packed set pieces, critics raved over the evolution of one of the industry’s biggest franchises. The multiplayer side of the game added several new community features and managed to improve upon an already excellent formula. The Black Ops 2 Zombies mode has proved to be a fan favorite with each new installment. Black Ops 2 Zombies added the “Tranzit” mode which incorporated enormous maps, some story, and a bit of humor while players fought against the undead.
[adsense250itp]The Nuketown Zombies bonus map is virtually identical to the extremely popular fan favorite multiplayer map that originated with the first Black Ops. The difference with Nuketown Zombies, however, is that the map takes place after the bomb dropped. A recently released trailer for the map shows CDC members fighting against undead humans and zombie versions of their former colleagues.
Originally the map was only going to be available for those who purchased the Hardened Edition or “Care Package” (or Digital Deluxe edition for PC gamers) versions of Black Ops 2. Those players actually gained access to the exclusive map on the game’s release day. Since the Black Ops 2 Zombies fanbase was so vocal, Treyarch and Activision soon decided to include the map for anyone who purchased a season pass.
Players who purchased the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Season Pass also receive four DLC Map Packs for the suggested retail price of $49.99. In addition to these downloadable maps (which will be for the multiplayer and zombie modes), players will also receive an exclusive in-game calling card. At the moment, this bonus is only available for Xbox 360 players; the availability for other platforms should be announced soon.
In a very short amount of time, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has managed to gross $1 billion. Within 24 hours of release the game even made $500 million in sales. Black Ops 2 has received many high scores and was even the recipient of Gaming Illustrated’s Editor’s Choice Award. Have you been enjoying the new Black Ops 2 Zombies mode?
