An upcoming DLC will bring new content to the Black Ops 2 Zombies mode. The Revolution DLC pack is the first to be released for Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The DLC was recently outed through a leaked press image and most of the details turned out to be true. Revolution is a massive DLC pack that includes four new multiplayer maps, a brand new multiplayer weapon, a new Black Ops 2 Zombies map and a new Zombies game mode.

Black Ops 2 Zombies players who get the Revolution DLC will be treated to a new map titled “Die Rise.” The map takes place along a series of collapsed skyscrapers in a Chinese City that has been devastated by the zombie outbreak. Unlike the current Black Ops 2 Zombies maps, “Die Rise” will focus more on verticality where players must navigate maze-like floors and try to avoid hazards such as elevator shafts. The map will also introduce new buildables and Wonder Weapons to add another dash of strategy to the zombies experience.

[adsense250itp]Revolution will also add a new mode to the Black Ops 2 Zombies experience in the form of “Turned.” In this mode, gamers will finally be able to compete against each other as zombies. A lone human player fights to survive and gain points against a horde of zombie players. When a zombie player takes down the human, they will then spawn as the new human. Black Ops 2 already added to the zombies experience with the “Tranzit” mode; Revolution will mark another addition to the growing zombies experience.

For the players who prefer multiplayer over the Black Ops 2 Zombies mode, the new DLC maps look to diversify not only setting but playstyle. The first map “Hydro” has players shooting it out in a hydroelectric dam in Pakistan. The best feature of the map will definitely be the floodwaters that will come in and sweep away any player who isn’t paying attention. “Grind” takes place in a skate park in California’s Venice Beach. Where most multiplayer maps focus on sharp corners and straight lines, “Grind” features half-pipes and skate ramps to navigate. “Downhill” features a ski resort in the French Alps. The snowy setting looks beautiful but that will probably change when the white snow is splattered with blood. The final map is “Mirage” taking players to a luxury resort in the Gobi Desert. The map is a definite contrast to “Downhill” because it features long lines of sight and buildings covered in sand.

The Revolution DLC pack is topped off with the addition of the “Peacekeeper” multiplayer weapon. The Peacekeeper marks the first time in the history of the franchise that a weapon has been introduced through DLC. It is a hybrid SMG-Assault Rifle that also comes with its own set of challenges that will net players XP.

Not only does the Revolution DLC look to add a good amount of content to the Black Ops 2 Zombies experience, it will be expanding the multiplayer offerings as well.  The DLC pack will arrive first on Xbox 360 on Jan. 29 for 1200 Microsoft points ($14.99). It’s expected that the timed exclusive DLC will be announced for other platforms within 30 days.

Keep in mind that the Revolution DLC is available through the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Season Pass. The Season Pass includes four map packs at a discounted price and includes the Nuketown Zombies map. Hopefully other DLC packs will continue to expand the Black Ops 2 Zombies mode as well. Will you Black Ops 2 fans be purchasing Revolution when it hits at the end of the month?
