Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

The release of Black Ops 2 is fast approaching. By midnight November 13th, gamers who have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this first-person shooter (FPS) installment will be slaughtering competitors, climbing leaderboards, and proclaiming victory over their gaming headsets. If you’re one of the upcoming Black Ops 2 badasses who will compete to win, ask yourself this: why are you not competing to win actual stuff? With Battle Perks, you won’t only brand matches with your unparalleled skill but you’ll be collecting points to earn actual prizes. Battle Perks offers real, tangible prizes that go beyond unlocked maps and guns and instead awards practical, usable items like custom controllers, games, and gift cards. If you’re already spending countless hours proving your gaming gusto and greatness, Battle Perks should seriously interest you.

Read a more specific, detailed account of Battle Perks in Gaming Illustrated’s in depth introduction.

Developed by ViralSyntax, Battle Perks is the upcoming, free online ladders system that aims to reward skill with actual prizes. Here’s how Battle Perks will work and win for you: individuals or teams will enter either heads up matches or tournaments through the Battle Perks system. Players and teams that excel in the match and reach top rank in the leaderboards will achieve a certain amount of Battle Points. Battle Points can be accumulated and redeemed in the BattleStore. The Battlestore will offer prizes like “stickers and controller grips to higher-value items like headsets, custom controllers…consoles, games, and gift cards.” In other words, it really does pay to win with Battle Perks.

So imagine you are your buddies are gearing up to beat down some amateurs on Black Ops 2. Instead of spending your time and energy in a regular match, challenge one of your friends to a Battle Perks match. Wage a certain amount of Battle Points and start hysterically throwing frag grenades. Viciously destroy your friend first and you win the waged amount of Battle Points. You can even choose to a have a nonpartisan player to referee your matches (of course referees will receive a percentage of the BattlePoints won). Battle Perks brings a new angle to competitive gaming. It raises the stakes and gives a more defined incentive to win. Battle Perks sharpens the competitive edge, pitting players against one another to achieve both a glorious title and wicked gaming items.

So what about the Black Ops 2 players who aren’t familiar with top rank and usually get owned by shotgun blasts to the back? With Battles Perks there is even a place for the less capable. Gamers who find themselves frequently fatigued by constant domination have alternative ways for acquiring BattlePoints. Referring friends, purchasing games and gaming gear from partner sites, completing offers and surveys, spreading the word about Battle Perks, and signing up for services are all other paths to prizes. Another, more interactive way to accumulate BattlePoints is by refereeing matches. Battle Perks referees will have public profiles in order to monitor impartiality and will receive a percentage of BattlePoints for each match they referee.

If you’re interested in getting BattlePoints NOW and getting in on the action early for some sick rewards by playing Black Ops 2, pre-register for the Battle Perks beta release today!

Battle Perks doesn’t have an official release date yet but ViralSyntax is feeling optimistic and has high hopes for a nearing release (possibly within the next 4 months)! Whenever Battle Perks finally debuts, Black Ops 2 gamers (and other popular PvP gamers) can expect to access the service through PSN, Steam, Xbox Live, and Battle.net. All countries will have access to the free service which will operate on top of the line, quality servers. For more information visit the official Battle Perks website!

Black Ops 2 may be the most anticipated game of the year. Treyarch developed both the original Black Ops and its upcoming sequel. However, Treyarch has made a lot of advancements in Black Ops 2 that really set the game apart from its predecessor. Set in the year 2025, Black Ops 2 offers a futuristic but realistic story where cyberwarfare and technological masterminds control the battlefield. Sophisticated technological weaponry, drones, and “electronically-charged projectiles” include only some of the exciting new additions. Although there are so many new gadgets and goodies to get giggly about, don’t worry, there will still be zombies. Black Ops 2 is set for an 11/13 release and will be available on Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360. But remember, if you’re going to Black Ops 2, Black Ops 2 with Battle Perks!

to win a prize with the battle perks, you guys might want to watch out for hackers or boosters cause im pretty sure they will find a way to boost or cheat there way to the top. just a suggestion make some video watching thing that will make sure this wont happen. and do we recieve them by mail or in game? the prizes of course?

Hey Jason, thanks for the comment!

Yes, security will be a major concern, and we’re working with some really sharp people to make sure the system is protected.

Prizes will be available in the BattleStore, and will be purchased with points that that are earned by the methods outlined in the article (winning matches, refereeing matches, etc.) The system will operate like any other shopping cart but, instead of money, BattlePoints are used to pay for the items.
You will receive the items in the mail if they are physical products or, in the case of digital goods, the items will be delivered electronically.

Thanks for checking out the site. We really appreciate all the gamers out there that are supporting the project with tweets, Facebook posts, and Youtube videos. You guys rock.

So how exactly would you become a referee.

  • BattlePerks

    Hey Gman9831,

We’re still working on the details, and the system will evolve over time, but we’re setting up a system where refs will have Rep and publicly viewable feedback. Being a ref will be a pretty powerful position (similar to a moderator on a forum), so we want to make sure the’re committed to playing fair.

Once a player has gained a reputation on the site for playing fair, and has a certain number of games logged without black marks, he or she will be able to apply to become a ref. We’re going to look at several different systems, and are going to pick out what works best based on feedback from our beta testers (people who are pre-registered). So, to sum that all up, you become a referee by being trustworty, and applying for the position. We then look over your account and, if you’re approved, add those permissions to your profile.

Thanks for the good question, and we look forward to seeing you on the ladders!
