A single image regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s first DLC pack was leaked on the game’s official forums yesterday. Some would consider this pretty lackluster, except that the image has revealed a surprisingly large amount of info on what’s to come for Call of Duty players.
Firstly, the image reveals the title of the pack to be Revolution. It also reveals what looks to be four new multiplayer levels, each accompanied by a revealing picture.
Grind introduces players to an urban skate park setting. Adding a bit of edge to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s current multiplayer maps, Grind will have players diving for cover behind come colorfully tagged environments. We can only hope they include some form of new interaction with some of the jumps and rails of this new map.
As the name suggests, Downhill will take players to a somewhat familiar snowy resort setting. Everything from ski lifts to a beautiful cabin resort should prove satisfying for players looking for some new killing experiences.
The final multiplayer map seems a bit vague at first, until readers note the Pagoda-style buildings in the background. This leads us to believe the level will take place in China.
On top of these four stellar maps, a new zombie map will also be included. Die Rise seems to be a quirky little play on words that means the level will take place in a skyrise filled with the undead. Scrambling through the various levels of a skyrise gives players the ability to interact in a much more enclosed environment than what they might be used to from Call of Duty’s zombie mode.
Finally, it seems as though a new weapon may be making its way into the Black Ops 2 multiplayer experience. The Peacekeeper Sub-machine gun is featured prominently at the bottom of the leaked photo. This seems likely as it has not been uncommon for weapons to be included with multiplayer DLC in the past.
No pricing details have been revealed but poster image leaked by Gamestop gives Black Ops 2’s Revolution DLC a release date of Jan. 29, 2013. The leak has since been sealed but we’re willing to bet our money on the DLC hitting during the first month of 2013.
