EA Announces Battlefield Hardline

EA confirmed Battlefield Hardline, a brand new series based in the Battlefield universe, will be released this fall.
[adsense250itp]Rather than a war-based shooter, Battlefield Hardline will center around the war on crime. In a modern day version of “Cops and Robbers,” the game will feature battles between law enforcement and criminals.
On the company’s official blog, EA implied the latest installment of the Battlefield franchise will be a collaboration between series developer DICE and Visceral Games, which created the Dead Space titles.
No platforms for the game were officially announced but leaks discovered on the Better Battlelog forums suggest the game is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Leaked information also uncovered four potential soldier classes, including Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator and Professional.
Details on the game are scarce but more information is expected to be revealed during the EA press conference at E3 2014. Fans interested in getting updates on Battlefield Hardline are encouraged to visit the game’s website at battlefield.com/hardline.
While another Battlefield title was certainly expected to be announced at E3 2014, nobody could have guessed it would ditch the war setting for a cops and robbers approach. It is too early to see how this decision will play out so gamers should reserve judgment until footage is shown at E3.
