Bandai Namco Developing Metroid Prime 4, According to Report

At E3 2017, we learned that Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development, but that is just about all we knew about the game until now. According to a report from Eurogamer citing multiple sources, we now know that Bandai Namco is handling development of Metroid Prime 4.
The report states that Bandai Namco Studios Singapore is the lead studios working on the game with Nintendo. The development stuidos opened in 2013 and has several former LucasArts Singapore staff members, including some who were previously working on the since-cancelled Star Wars 1313.
It would be a bit of a surprise to see Nintendo turn over development of Metroid Prime 4 to Bandai Namco. Retro Studios developed all three previous Metroid Prime games, while Team Ninja helped Nintendo make Metroid: Other M. However, Bandai Namco has worked with Nintendo on the arcade version of Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U, and Pokkén Tournament for Wii U and Switch.
Additionally, series producer Kensuke Tanabe is overseeing the development of Metroid Prime 4, so it is in the hands of a trusted Nintendo resource.
There is no release date for Metroid Prime 4 at this point, but it is not expected to release in 2018.
