Ubisoft announced the new features players can expect when a title update for Assassin’s Creed Origins releases in December.
The December update is meant to add increased challenge to the game while providing players with a few new quests to extend Origins’ lifespan.
Nightmare difficulty will be added that makes enemies more dangerous and resilient to damage. After being a popular requested feature, Ubisoft will introduce enemy scaling to the game. When enemy scaling is activated, lower level enemies across the game world will automatically scale to players’ current level. Nightmare and First Civ pack items will also be made available in the Heka Chest.
Horde mode will be introduced with a new quest called “Here Comes a New Challenger.” This quest introduces players to the games Horde mode where they can prove their skills against unlimited waves of enemies. Horde mode has a recommended level requirement of 32 or higher. Ubisoft has also teased a surprise quest, only offering an image of a mount with feathers attached to its backside.
Players who have been fighting Anubis and Sobek in the first two Trials of the Gods will be able to face the final god, warrior goddess Sekhmet, when the update drops. Ubisoft is also giving players the opportunity to fight Anubis and Sobek if they missed those gods’ appearance in the previous Trials during November.
December 12 sees the release of the Gladiator Items Pack featuring the Spaniard’s armor, the Palladium shield, Hercules’ Gladius sword, the Labrys heavy blade, and the Neptune’s Grasp spear. On December 26 the Wacky Items Pack releases giving players a mount and four weapons that will be detailed later.
