Assassin’s Creed III will be released on October 31st on console platforms, but Ubisoft announced that the PC edition won’t be available until November 20, 2012. The latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise is set in the time of the United States revolutionary war against England and features a new hero that’s a descendant of both English and Native American history. The news comes as a blow for PC gamers that had been geared up to play the latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise as it was previously assumed that the PC version would be released alongside the console games.

On Halloween Night, October 31st, gamers will be playing Assassin’s Creed III on their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 console systems. PC gamers, however, will be left out waiting until November 23rd, nearly a month later. The game will also be available for the Wii U but no release date for Nintendo’s new platform has been announced although that news is expected to be right around the corner.

One good thing about Assassin’s Creed III for PC is that it’s a full $10 cheaper than buying it for the console. On Ubisoft’s online store, Ubishop, the game can be pre-ordered for just $49.99 as opposed to the $59.99 price for the console version. If you do decide to preorder the game, you’ll receive an extra called “A Dangeous Set” which is an exclusive single-player missions that could “decide the fate of the Revolution,” which sounds pretty important. On top of that, you’ll be able to use the “Flintlock Musket” which is said to be a perfect shot for tight spaces. Available as a pre-order for $49.99 on the Ubishop, the game does also appear on Steam. However, as of the time of this article’s publication there was no price or pre-order button on the game’s Steam homepage.

The latest entry into the Assassin’s Creed franchise, this game will take place starting in the year 1775, a time of political upheaval in the American Colonies. As a Native American assassin, you’ll fight to protect your land, family, friends and people which will help ignite the American Revolution. It’s been confirmed that major figures from this era including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin will be appearing the game. While the game certainly will not be historically accurate, it’ll most likely be awesome that gamers will be getting missions from General Washington and then going out and scalping Red Coats.

While the news of the game’s deplay did come as a disappointment to PC gamers, it certainly didn’t come as a surprise. Historically the game has released their non-console editions later than the street date of the PS3 and XBox 360 editions. The PC edition will come to gamers in the United States on November 20th and gamers in the UK will have to wait three more days on top of that for a release date of November 23rd.
