Assassins Creed 4 Release Date

Assassins Creed 4 Release Date

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is the next installation in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.  Wildly successful in the past, the previous game in the series, Assassin’s Creed 3, had many mixed reviews.  Ubisoft assures us that the Assassins Creed 4 release date is certainly something to look forward to.  They are taking steps to bring the franchise back to its roots, focusing more around the things that fans liked, and trying to shy away from the aspects that they did not.  Assassin’s Creed has always been one of my favorite game franchises, but I would agree that it has shied away from its roots enough to take a moment and reassess where it is headed and where it ultimately wants to go.

For instance, the naval combat of Assassin’s Creed 3 was one of the most praised gameplay mechanics featured in the game, but it was never used as anything other than a cheap mini-game.  Assassin’s Creed 4: Black flag will be making naval combat a more important piece of combat that the game will center around more.  Personally, I hope they stay true to the word that they will be bringing back the open city traversing feel that previous games have brought to the table.  For me, those were the most critical aspects that made previous installments of Assassin’s Creed enjoyable.

The Assassins Creed 4 release date will be on October 30th, 2013.  As one of the first few games being released on the next-gen consoles, the PS4 and XB1, it will be interesting to see how the launch goes.  With all the news on how these new systems will be handling games, as well as Ubisoft’s DRM track record, I would love to see Assassin’s Creed 4 launch smoothly, though I can only expect that there will be at be a slew of problems that happen when games launch on any brand new system.

In addition to uncertainty around how the Assassins Creed 4 release date will go, there is also the question as to how effectively the game will utilize these next generation consoles.  Given that they are undoubtedly stronger than previous iterations, what new features will these consoles allow for the Assassin’s Creed franchise?  What benefits will these new consoles offer over previous ones – why should I play  Assassin’s Creed on a PS4 over a XB1 or even my PC?  All this and more are things I’m extremely curious in learning before the Assassins Creed 4 release date.

All in all, it really seems like the Assassins Creed 4 release date will be a revitalizing moment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.  Ubisoft seems to be breathing new life into a series which has, admittedly, begun to feel stale after so many installments.  I have high hopes that the Assassins Creed 4 release date brings the game back to a place where everyone can enjoy it and praise it like they did when the first Assassin’s Creed game came out so many years ago.

“They are taking steps to bring the franchise back to its roots”
I sure hope so, I want an AC game that retains the core elements of the 1st game and combines it with the refined gameplay from brotherhood.
I have a feeling AC4 is going to be to AC3 just what brotherhood was to AC2, minor variations but ultimately the same game just with some new textures, I feel like ubi is just trying to cover up the fact that this will basically be AC 3 : brotherhood by calling it part 4 and giving it a new main character,I hope im wrong but we’ll see this october.
