Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag

Ubisoft released the first gameplay footage of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag in a new trailer for the game.

The trailer follows the actions of the game’s main character, Captain Edward Kenway. Voice narration over the footage describes the Golden Age of Pirates in which Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag takes place.

Gameplay features are shown for the first time in the new trailer. Aside from the usual Assassin’s Creed roof-jumping and murdering, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag includes gorgeous underwater diving and exploration. It appears there will even be battles with sharks. Crickey! The ship battles from Assassin’s Creed 3 will also be returning as a major part of the game.

According to the trailer, players will hit the shore on Habana, Kingston and other uncharted islands along with exploring the Caribbean seas. Kenway is feared by both authorities and fellow pirates but has an extremely loyal crew.

The trailer was first posted on the official PlayStation Blog.

Ubisoft also announced pre-order bonus details for players who purchase Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag through Gamestop before it is released. The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Gamestop Edition will include The Black Island Pack based on the legend of Captain Morgan.

The Gamestop-exclusive version of the game will come with the single-player quest Black Island, the Black Ship based on Captain Morgan’s favorite ship, silver flintlock pistols used by Captain Morgan, and multiplayer items including Captain Morgan’s costume, picture and title. Unfortunately, a bottle of Captain Morgan’s famous rum will not be included.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is set to release Oct. 29 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. It will also be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and other next-generation consoles at a later date that has yet to be announced.

The first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag can be viewed below.
