Ubisoft unveiled a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3 featuring the Tyranny of King George downloadable content that will add more single-player missions to the game.
The Tyranny of King George DLC takes place in an alternate history in which players must fight George Washington because he has become a power-hungry tyrant.
Washington and the Continental Army defeat the British to win their independence but he pronounces himself king rather than creating a republic. Washington quickly lets the power go to his head.
In an additional twist, there is no Connor. Gamers will play as Ratonhnhaké:ton but he never became an Assassin in this alternate history. The main character must find different ways to gain the necessary skills to defeat Washington. The trailer also reveals Ratonhnhaké:ton will have a different outfit in the DLC made from the skin of a wolf.
Tyranny of King George, which was originally announced in October, will play out over three episodic content packs. All three DLC packs, along with the Hidden Secrets and Battle Hardened DLC, can be purchased together through the Assassin’s Creed 3 Season Pass. Each DLC can also be purchased separately but gamers who buy the Season Pass will get a 25 percent discount over buying all content separately. The Season Pass is available for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network.
Ubisoft has stated all Season Pass DLC for Assassin’s Creed 3 will be released within six months of the game’s original launch date. Owners of the Season Pass will have access to all DLC before it becomes available for purchase individually.
Assassin’s Creed 3 released on Oct. 30 to solid reviews and high sales. The game sold over 3.5 million units in its first week of release. The trailer for the Tyranny of King George DLC can be viewed below.
