Arctic Strike DLC for Ghost Recon: Future Solider

In Arctic Strike, players will receive a variety of bonuses. Things to anticipate include 3 multi-player maps, 1 new MP mode called “Stockade”, 1 guerrilla co-op map, 6 weapons, various achievements, and an increased level cap of 60. All of these bonuses can be attained for the small price of 800 Microsoft points (or $9.99 on the PSN), and we were lucky enough to snag a look at screen shots of two of the maps that will be included. The first featured players having an epic firefight in a public park with the prospect of being able to sneak through playgrounds. The second map, called “Skyline,” aptly sets players on rooftops, or so it seems, and while we were unable to feast our eyes on the third map, we were told players will be able to traverse the wintery wilds of Russia, with options to travel from Moscow all the way to the Arctic. Hopefully, we’ll have more map information to pass on before the DLC is released next week, but changing gears, let’s talk multi-player.
As mentioned, MP fans will have at their fingertips a new mode called “Stockade,” and its format suggests new challenges and tests for teams. The set-up is simple: if a teammate dies, the only way to free him from the stockade is to get a kill. Even better, the option to free an entire team is available by completing a specified objective. In the event of a tie, players fall back on team points for the win. The twist, and perhaps the pleasure, comes from the new firepower being showcased; two new guns for each class are rumored, though no stats have been released yet, however, as the old adage goes: no news is good news. (This positive outlook should also be applied to the amount achievements to be featured.) And like any good developer, Ubisoft didn’t forget about the Gorilla fans of the game. As mentioned, they too are getting a new map which the new weapons will be available on as well. No press or screen shots came for this inclusion, but with what we’ve seen, we’re putting our faith in the company that it’ll be good.Stay tuned to Gaming Illustrated for the latest news in the gaming world.
